For decades, Audio Video Integrations has been “hooking up” the Sioux Falls area with integrated audio, video, and lighting systems using cutting edge technology and incredible products. Upholding this standard into the next chapter is something new owner, Jeremy Rensink, is focused on while also aiming to exceed expectations in their level of service.

Rensink had been a business owner for 15 years in an industry that was very profitable yet physically demanding and especially difficult so he began exploring the possibility of buying into a new business. With his lifelong interest in all things electronically controlled, the option to purchase AVI was the perfect chance at the perfect time. Rensink was all in on the new opportunity and new challenge. While there was a big learning curve in taking ownership within a new industry altogether, he found that the entrepreneurial skills he learned in that season of his life translated well to this new venture.

While AVI will continue to integrate the audio, visual, and lighting needs for residential and commercial customers as they always have, one of the changes Rensink is implementing takes aim at a seamless customer-focused approach to service.

“We strive to continue to give our clients a home control system that is simple elegance; it works and it’s simple to use. As the new owner of AVI, I want to take that foundation and add an amazing customer service experience. I do that by having team members that are passionate about customer service and empowering them to do what it takes (to make the client happy).”

This new maintenance plan focuses on a superior customer experience that keeps convenience and joy at the top of the list in what is an ever-changing and always-aging world of technology. It will ensure that each customer understands how to use their systems with expert training, provides for an early check-in to ensure usability and function, and an opportunity to purchase a supplemental plan aimed to clean, protect, and prolong the life of products and systems in their home.

“Technology ages out quickly, especially in the A/V world. Things are constantly changing and adapting to the market climate,” adds AVI Lead Technician, Chester Carson. “In order for us to properly address this issue, we felt like a preemptive strike would be best.”

AVI uses trusted, high-end products and system lines to set the performance bar high and fortunately, many products have warranties already. Carson says that these additional maintenance plans aim to capitalize on those existing warranties by providing experienced technicians to really restore the customers’ confidence in using their system and prevent or diagnose any issues. But it all starts with understanding what the client wants and matching the products and systems to that.

AVI has a streamlined process to understand how the customer wants to experience their home including what they’d like their home to do for them. They can set and adjust different scenes that are automated with the push of a button. From opening your curtains, running the sprinklers, receiving updated weather and news reports, engaging your home security system as you leave for the day to turning lights on at 60%, playing your favorite music, or adjusting the HVAC for your return home, AVI can help get you connected. In addition to different times and days of the week, AVI can also adjust the controls for different events such as hosting parties or watching movies.

Much of the backend work to get the devices collaborating and responding on demand is highly technical and quite complex, but the team at AVI is dedicated to making the use and care as simple as possible for their customers.

“When a client comes home from work and turns their TV, home theater, music, or lights on, it should just work and be simple. Everyone has enough stress at work, so home should be a reprieve, a resting place,” Rensink says on how he wants customers to experience their smart homes. “I want to focus on giving our clients that immersive peace, or joy, that they can share. At AVI we don’t aim to just connect electronics, we aim to connect families.”
